‘Apostille’ is the term used for a process of authentication of documents being used internationally in 115 countries. Think of it as an international notary. This service is frequently used by companies involved in global business, students studying abroad, families moving or adopting internationally, or for a variety of other reasons.
For documents to be eligible for authentication they must be:
- The originals,
- Notarized locally,
- Include all necessary translations,
- And specify in which country they’ll be used later.
Each California Secretary of State Apostille Filing is different, and the Apostille fees vary, which makes it difficult to predict the fees for each filing. Generally, the State fees will include $20 for the Apostille certificate and $6 for each applicable signature authentication.
Submitting multiple Apostille requests simultaneously will ensure you a discounted service rate.
